Can you cure Shellac using an LED nail lamp?

Shellac was not formulated to cure in a LED lamp.
Thank You,
CND

This weekend I went to get my nails done at a different salon that a friend goes too. Only because I could not get into to see my usual spot Allure Salon in Mountain View. Needless to say that I will never do that again. We got to the Salon yesterday morning and were taken care of by some nice ladies. I had my pedicure first so had no idea what product was being used. The removal of the old Shellac was exactly as I’ve had before; not until I was moved to the counter to get my finger nails done did I realize that they don’t use CND. They use some Daisy Gel product. Okay, I remained calm and let them do my nails as the bottom line was they needed to be taken care of. I figured one time will be fine and next time I will have to do my appointments earlier at my usual place so I can actually get in. This morning came the realization that I couldn’t do this again. The Daisy Gel is already peeling!!! So much for having nice nails. This lady will remain loyal to CND Shellac. I love it. It lasts over 3 weeks and that’s after all the typing at work, cleaning and dish washing at home. Thank you CND for this wonderful Shellac.

The trick is to really shake the Shellac well and apply very thin, here is a video that might help with the french manicure:

Hope that helps!

Why does it take so long to come out with different colors?
CND says:

Shellac is a power polish created using UV3 technology. This means that each color must be designed individually in order to have to right ratio of all the components to ensure a proper cure and performance. The color must be chemically created, tested, and produced on its own as each color of Shellac is an independent formula. This takes more time than sectioning out a batch and adding pigment.

My CND UV lamp has stopped working, the light goes out and there is a ringing sound coming from the lamp, the bulbs were changed about two months ago. I unpluged the lamp and retried several times and I get the same result. The lamp is only two years old.

When the timer goes off it is letting you know it is time to change the bulbs, you will also need to reset the bulb timer:
RESETTING BULB LIFE TIMER
After replacing all four bulbs, press the BULB RESET button until the indicator starts flashing. Continue to press and
hold until you hear 3 beeps and the number is reset to 100. This indicates the number of hours remaining on the bulbs.
Thank You,
CND

My CND cures perfectly with my LED lamp, and in less time than UV. Why was I told this wouldn’t work?

Any source of UV can make a product appear to be cured, the issue lies within whether it is undercured, properly cured, or overcured. You may find this article by industry scientist Doug Schoon helpful in understanding:
